Why openRECEIVER

The Value We Deliver

Five strategic advantages that set openRECEIVER apart - for providers, developers, and end users alike.

Make Space Services Discoverable

Create visibility and demand for space-derived SaaS through a centralized marketplace where customers can easily find, evaluate, and adopt solutions. Simplify discovery, purchase, and integration for mass market applications.

Connect Space Technology and Real-World Applications

Translate advanced space technologies into practical, easy-to-use downstream services. Support and bridge industry standard communication protocols from space to target market segments.

Improve Access to Mass Markets

Bring space-powered SaaS to consumer devices, agriculture, and automotive industries, unlocking scalable, lucrative use cases beyond traditional space customers.

Reduce Investment Costs

Lower investment and operational costs by enabling innovative service providers to access ready-to-use infrastructure to disseminate and monitize their products.

Shorten Time to Market

Bring space-based capabilities to market faster by removing complexity from distribution and commercialization, without the overhead of building and maintaining customer-facing apps.

How openRECEIVER Works

A three-step flow connects downstream space service providers with the developers who need them.

1

Providers Publish Downstream Space Services

Space expert companies and institutions publish services, such as GNSS corrections or EO analytics, to the openRECEIVER marketplace via space-industry standard APIs.

openRECEIVER2

Marketplace & Data Dissemination Platform

openRECEIVER bridges services across protocols (MQTT, HTTP, WebSocket, NTRIP), monitors quality KPIs, and manages subscriptions, metering, invoicing, and secure service access.

3

Developers Integrate Space Services via API

Application developers discover, subscribe to, and integrate downstream space services in their applications, without needing deep space expertise - just clean APIs.

Platform Features

Three integrated components: Portal, Data Dissemination System, and Marketplace Services; Working together to connect space service providers with mass-market developers.

System Architecture
openRECEIVER system architecture – part 1openRECEIVER system architecture – part 3
Portal

The portal to manage space-grade services and connected applications. Some of its features:

  • Space Service Listing and Application Configuration

Providers configure and publish service products; developers discover, purchase, and manage subscriptions through a self-service interface.

  • Documentation & Example Apps

Extensive guides and ready-to-use example applications for the target market segment: automotive, consumer, and agriculture.

  • Live Service Status

Real-time visibility into service health, uptime, and performance KPIs for every listed service on the marketplace.

Data Dissemination System

Intelligent protocol translation and service API at scale. Some of its features:

  • Automatic Multi-Protocol Translation

Supports and bridges industry-standard communication protocols - MQTT, AMQP, WebSocket, NTRIP - from space service provider to target market segment.

  • Standardized Service APIs

Generates standardized service interface specifications, facilitating non-space experts to integrate their clients.

  • Secure Access & Data Governance

Implements robust authentication, authorization, and usage control mechanisms to ensure secure and compliant data dissemination across markets.

Marketplace Services

A service-based commerce infrastructure, fully managed. Some of the services:

  • Payment, Tax & Invoicing

End-to-end handling of subscription payments, tax compliance, and automated invoice generation - no billing infrastructure to build or maintain.

  • Usage Metrication

Granular subscription usage metering provides accurate, auditable data for billing, capacity planning, and service-level reporting.

  • Service Quality Analysis

Automatic quality analysis and periodic reporting - giving providers and customers continuous insight into service performance.

For providers and developers

About openRECEIVER

openRECEIVER is a B2B marketplace for downstream space services. It lets space-service providers distribute services such as GNSS corrections, positioning and timing, Earth Observation, and satellite communication as SaaS, and lets application developers discover, subscribe to, and integrate them over standardized APIs, without needing deep space expertise.

Two audiences. First, space-service providers who want distribution without building their own customer-facing infrastructure. Second, application developers in automotive, agriculture, maritime, consumer, and IoT markets who need positioning, timing, Earth Observation, or satellite communication data through standard APIs.

A downstream space service turns raw space capabilities such as satellite signals, imagery, or links into ready-to-use data products. Examples include GNSS correction streams for centimeter-level positioning, local height data, resilient positioning, and maritime tracking. openRECEIVER distributes these as subscribable APIs.

The platform is in preview and launches fully in Q1 2027. Provider onboarding starts with an early-adopter campaign in 2026. Join the waitlist by subscribing to the newsletter.

Use the contact form on this page or email contact@open-receiver.com. We reply as soon as possible.

For developers

Browse the catalog, subscribe to a service, then connect your client over a standard protocol: MQTT, MQTT over WebSocket, AMQP, HTTP, or NTRIP. Each service ships an AsyncAPI specification describing its channels, payloads, and security, so you can scaffold a client quickly. GNSS correction services stream standard RTCM 3 data.

No. Services are delivered over standard protocols with documented APIs and example apps, so application developers can integrate positioning, Earth Observation, or satellite communication data without GNSS or satellite expertise.

Minutes, not months. Services expose standardized APIs and machine-readable AsyncAPI specs, so you connect with familiar tooling instead of building a bespoke space integration.

For service providers

Service onboarding opens in 2026, starting with an early-adopter campaign. Register your interest through the contact form or the newsletter and the team will reach out. Onboarding verifies your company eligibility, technical compliance, and broker connectivity.

openRECEIVER uses a commission on revenue generated through the platform, plus a small monthly base fee. Full pricing is published closer to the 2026 launch.

All exact terms will be published soon, but at least you must be a legally registered company in an eligible country, own and operate a service reachable over a supported protocol (MQTT, AMQP, HTTP, or NTRIP), and accept the platform service agreement. Onboarding verifies administrative eligibility, technical capability, and connectivity.

Any downstream space service that delivers data over a supported protocol. Examples include GNSS correction streams (PPP-RTK, PPP-AR), positioning and timing, local height, resilient positioning, Earth Observation analytics, maritime and AIS tracking, and satellite IoT communication.

Possibly. A fulfillment option for hardware-dependent services is under evaluation. Contact us to discuss your specific case.

openRECEIVER is for civil and commercial use. Services intended exclusively for defense or military use are out of scope. Dual-use services may be listed subject to a compliance review, handled case by case. Contact us to discuss a specific use case.

Technical

openRECEIVER delivers services over MQTT (including MQTT over WebSocket), AMQP, HTTP, and NTRIP. Each service AsyncAPI spec lists its exact endpoints.

There are multiple authentication means available, some limited by the transport/session-layer protocol. You obtain credentials and certificates from the portal.

You receive a certificate from the portal to connect to your dedicated service ingestion gateway. Your service needs a static IP for firewall whitelisting.

Documentation, AsyncAPI specs, and example apps live in the portal at docs.open-receiver.com. Subscribe to the newsletter for updates as more public documentation is released.
